A nice German full size violin made around 1880.
A model based on the works of Da Salo and Maggini of Brescia (Ita), it boasts double purflings and an extra turn of the scroll.
Light yellow-brown varnish on a cinnamon coloured ground with a really nice patina.
Medium grain spruce front, the back, sides and scroll of broadly flamed maple.
This violin was fully restored at the Canterbury Violins workshop.
